With so many different window tinting options on the market, it can be difficult to determine which one is the right fit for you. If you’re just looking for a cool, sleek appearance, then there are plenty of possibilities for tinting your windows. But for the best UV blocking, heat resistance, and scratch protection, ceramic window tinting is the only way to go.

Ceramic Window Tinting: What Is It and How Does It Work?

What Is It?

Like the name implies, ceramic window tinting is made of a film of ceramic particles applied to your car windows. Although “ceramic” often brings to mind thick, opaque pottery or colorful bathroom tiles, the ceramic particles used in window tinting won’t obstruct your view of the road. In fact, unlike other types of window tinting which can make it more difficult to see because of reduced light, ceramic window tinting film improves visibility by reducing glare.

How Does It Work?

Once the ceramic window tinting is applied, the nano particles will go to work blocking UV light. The ceramic particles reflect heat, rather than absorbing it, so this also makes ceramic coating useful in keeping the interior of your car cool—the more heat reflected from your windows, the more comfortable your car’s interior will feel.

Because ceramic window tinting is applied in a film on top of your car’s windows, this also means you have an additional protective layer, strengthening your windows and protecting them from scratches by gravel, rocks, and windborne dirt.
